Glaser Weil Partner Roger Howard is one of California’s most experienced and savvy corporate, real estate, and mergers and acquisitions lawyers who is known for his ability to devise strategic solutions for complex business and real estate transactional issues.

Roger’s corporate and business work focuses on mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate restructuring and tax. He works with numerous national and local manufacturing companies, oil/gas companies, financial institutions, national investment banking and private equity companies, worldwide importers and foreign entities. His transactional real estate practice is focused on acquisitions, residential and commercial development, negotiation/documentation of complex ground leases, sales, restructuring, workouts, title issues and leasing. His practice includes purchases, sales and leases of residential/condominium and large commercial properties, including, for example, sales of major studios, high-rise residential properties, subdivisions, negotiating/documenting complex multifamily/restaurant ground leases in Marina del Rey/Malibu, gas station portfolios, high-rise office buildings, regional shopping centers, historical monuments and hotels. Roger’s extensive knowledge of high-stakes real estate issues has led some of the country’s largest title insurance companies to seek out his assistance in resolving complex title insurance issues on their highest-priority claims.

Roger received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was recognized as the outstanding graduating senior. He received his law degree from UCLA School of Law.

Additionally, Roger is a frequent lecturer on real estate, business and corporate issues, and has spoken before organizations that include the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Fidelity National Financial and Chicago Title Insurance Company, UCLA Extension Programs and California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB).

  • The County of Los Angeles and one of the largest California pension funds in the reconstruction of a 900-unit multifamily project in Marina del Rey, which includes 200 apartment units for low- and moderate-income housing—one of the largest affordable housing projects in California.
  • The County of Los Angeles with respect to the development of Gladstones, a Frank Gehry-designed restaurant in Malibu, CA, operated/owned by Wolfgang Puck.
  • A property developer and manager regarding a significant apartment project in Palm Springs.
  • World-famous directors and producers, advising on the purchase of a landmark Hollywood monument.
  • Dent-ology, Inc., and HailRepair.com LLC in connection with the simultaneous sale of both companies’ assets to High Tech National, LLC, a subsidiary of publicly traded KAR Auction Services, Inc.
