Glaser Weil Welcomes Elizabeth Sperling, Building Litigation and Financial Services Capabilities in San Diego

Feb. 6, 2023 — Glaser Weil today announced the arrival of highly regarded litigation partner Elizabeth Sperling. Joining from an Am Law 50 firm, Sperling brings extensive trial, arbitration and appellate experience across a variety of litigation matters and represents financial institutions and other consumer-facing businesses (including in the food and beverage, products, retail, and gaming spaces), real estate companies and high net worth individuals. Her arrival strengthens Glaser Weil’s growing Financial Services practice, led by Richard Gottlieb, and adds to the Firm’s expanding capabilities in San Diego and Southern California.

“We’re thrilled to have Elizabeth on board,” said Emil Petrossian, a fellow litigation partner and co-office managing partner in San Diego who has been spearheading the Firm’s strategic growth in the market. “Simply put, she’s a top-tier litigator and her results across class action, consumer protection and financial services litigation speak for themselves,” added Patty Glaser, chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department. “Glaser Weil strives to set the bar for legal services, especially in litigation, and Elizabeth is nothing short of excellent. She complements the Firm’s trial capabilities in every sense.”

Sperling will serve as co-office managing partner in San Diego alongside Petrossian. She previously was named to Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Most Influential Minority Attorneys” list and will be actively involved in diversity and inclusion efforts at the firm-level and within the broader legal community.

“I’m delighted to be joining Glaser Weil and to have an opportunity to work with such an accomplished group of litigators,” said Sperling. “The Firm’s record of success and culture of excellence have always been on my radar. I’m looking forward to leveraging the Glaser Weil platform to better serve my existing clients, and I’m excited to help expand our capabilities in San Diego and beyond.”

Sperling is the latest partner to join Glaser Weil, following the recent arrivals of Jeff Joyner (intellectual property), Emil Petrossian (litigation), Marc Indeglia (corporate) and Richard Gottlieb (financial services).

Sperling received her J.D. from The University of Arizona and her B.A. from Arizona State University.

Glaser Weil, headquartered in Los Angeles, is one of the country’s premier full-service midsize law firms. The Firm is consistently chosen to represent diverse and industry-leading clients — including multinational corporations, high-profile individuals and disruptive startups — because of its unprecedented level of service and commitment to its clients.
