Stephen Underwood Speaks on Patent Prosecutors and Inequitable Conduct for PLI Ethical Tech Series

Intellectual Property Partner Stephen Underwood recently spoke for Practising Law Institute (PLI)’s Ethical Tech Series, in a program titled "Getting Your Head Out of the Sand – What Patent Prosecutors Need to Know About Inequitable Conduct."

With the explosion of the use of AI and technology in all practice areas, the series covers the thoughtful design issues behind tech, including the role of lawyers, the elements of responsible AI design, how inequitable conduct intersects with patent prosecution and more. 

Steve participated in a panel which discussed the balancing interests of attorneys in upholding fairness and equity while safeguarding our intellectual property system and upholding their duties to both the client and the USPTO.
