Alexander Miller

Alexander Miller is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice group. As a skilled litigator and advisor, Alex works closely with clients to successfully meet their litigation objectives and efficiently resolve disputes. His practice encompasses all aspects of litigation—including complex commercial, trade secret, employment, class action, and post-acquisition disputes—in state, federal, and arbitral forums.
Prior to joining Glaser Weil, Alex was a senior associate in the business litigation department of an Am Law 50 firm. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. Michael M. Anello, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of California, and the Hon. J. Clifford Wallace, Senior Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
While attending University of San Diego School of Law, Alex served on the San Diego Law Review and the Appellate Moot Court Board and was a teaching assistant for the legal writing and research program. While attending UC Santa Barbara, he served as a White House intern in the George W. Bush administration.
Representative Matters
Won a significant plaintiff’s verdict and attorneys’ fee award for a cutting-edge technology company in a breach of contract and trade secret action; it was tried before the American Arbitration Association in New York City.*
Won a $50 million damages award for a coffee extraction company in a breach of contract action against its former co-founder involving theft of the company’s intellectual property; it was tried before the American Arbitration Association in San Diego, resulting in a placement on the Daily Journal Corporations 2022 Top Verdicts in California list.*
Successfully opposed a petition for writ of mandate by the City of San Diego seeking to exclude an initiative from the 2018 general ballot and won a related anti-SLAPP motion, resulting in a $340,000+ attorneys’ fees award in San Diego Superior Court.*
Represented a food safety intelligence company in a complex fraud case involving the acquisition of cutting-edge pathogen detection technology, including obtaining case-critical admissions at deposition and on cross-examination at trial.*
Represented a Fortune 100 technology company in resolving fraud and other claims by filing a compelling demurrer and an anti-SLAPP motion.*
Represented a leading biopharmaceutical company in a complex patent licensing dispute.*
Represented a privately held beverage company in a putative false advertising class action.*
