Los Angeles Business Journal Names Peter Weil A “Leaders in Law” Finalist

Glaser Weil’s Managing Partner Peter Weil has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2017 “Leaders in Law” shortlist as a finalist in the Real Estate Law category. This award recognizes private practice attorneys and general counsel for their accomplishments and significant role they play in the success of a business.

Mr. Weil has long been involved with large, complex and innovative real estate and corporate transactions. His extensive experience encompasses envelope-pushing matters ranging from the acquisition and disposition of businesses to real estate development, construction, leasing, financing and restructuring. His list of clients have included Fortune 500 companies, significant real estate investors and developers, major studios, and successful entrepreneurs.

For many years, Mr. Weil has held leadership positions in prominent civic organizations, including President of the City of Los Angeles Planning Commission, Chairman of the City of Los Angeles Board of Zoning Appeals and Member of the City of Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners. In the professional realm, he is a past President of the Century City Bar Association and a former Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. In addition, he has lectured widely on a variety of real estate topics.

Mr. Weil is also passionately involved in his community. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles-based Skirball Cultural Center, is a Member of the Board of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, is President of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hillel, and a Member of the Board of Counselors of the USC Rossier School of Education. Last year, Mr. Weil received the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles Legal Division’s 2016 Bruce I. Hochman Maimonides Torch of Justice Award, recognizing his long-standing dedication and service to the Jewish and larger community.

The 2017 "Leaders in Law" event marks only the second year that the Los Angeles Business Journal has recognized both law firm attorneys in general counsel.  Nominees were selected for their exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.
