Peter Weil has long been involved with large, complex and innovative real estate and corporate transactions. His extensive experience encompasses envelope-pushing matters ranging from the acquisition and disposition of businesses to real estate development, construction, leasing, financing and restructuring. His list of clients have included Fortune 500 companies, significant real estate investors and developers, major studios and successful entrepreneurs. Mr. Weil served as lead outside counsel for MGM Mirage in connection with all legal aspects of the largest privately funded construction project in U.S. history, CityCenter, the $9 billion, 20 million-square-foot mixed-use project in Las Vegas.

Consistently receiving top professional rankings, Mr. Weil has been recognized as one of the "Top 100 Leading Attorneys in California" by the Los Angeles Daily Journal, and as both a “Leaders in Law” finalist and one of the “Top 50 Leading Lawyers in Los Angeles” by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Century City Bar Association has recognized him as its “Real Estate Lawyer of the Year,” and he regularly appears on the list of Best Lawyers in America.

For many years, Mr. Weil has held leadership positions in prominent civic organizations, including President of the City of Los Angeles Planning Commission, Chairman of the City of Los Angeles Board of Zoning Appeals and Member of the City of Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners. In the professional realm, he is a past President of the Century City Bar Association and a former Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. In addition, he has lectured widely on a variety of real estate topics.

Mr. Weil has also served as President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, President of the Western Region of the American Friends of The Hebrew University and as a Trustee and Member of the Executive Committee of the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Peter currently serves as a Member of the Board of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles and a Member of the Board of Counselors of the USC Rossier School of Education. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles-based Skirball Cultural Center and President of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hillel. Peter received the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles Legal Division’s Bruce I. Hochman Maimonides Torch of Justice Award.

Mr. Weil received his B.A., with honors, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also obtained his M.A. in history from the University of California, Berkeley.

    Represented prominent REITS in the acquisitions and dispositions of numerous office buildings and shopping centers.

  • Represented purchasers and sellers in the sale of large production studios in Los Angeles.

    Represented the anchor tenant in its lease of 400,000 square feet in a prestigious Los Angeles high rise office tower (the largest dollar lease in L.A. County history).

    Was in charge of the legal team from Glaser Weil that handled all legal aspects (entitlements, constructions contracts, architectural contracts, financings, insurance, LEED compliance, hotel management contracts) of a $9 billion, 20 million square-foot mixed-use project in Las Vegas (the largest privately funded construction project in U.S. history).
