Overview
Rachel Segal is Of Counsel in Glaser Weil’s Employment Practice, where she leverages more than fifteen years of litigation and counseling experience to advise employers on California and federal employment law. She is valued for her practical, strategic approach and her ability to help organizations manage workplace issues proactively, mitigate risk and address sensitive employee matters with care and discretion.
Rachel’s advisory work is informed by her background in both class action and single-plaintiff litigation and management consulting—experience which gives her a deep understanding of how to prevent litigation and the real-world business implications of navigating workplace policies, personnel decisions and organizational change.
Rachel is particularly sought after for:
- Preventative compliance strategies, including employee handbooks and workplace policies
- Executive and employee agreements, including restrictive covenants
- Employment law counseling on corporate transactions

Earlier in her career, Rachel handled employment disputes—including wage-and-hour, discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination matters. She also has experience appearing before administrative agencies such as the Civil Rights Department (CRD), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Prior to joining Glaser Weil, Rachel practiced at several prominent national law firms. She also served as a volunteer attorney with Bet Tzedek Legal Services and is a founding member and former co-chair of the Bet Tzedek New Leadership Council.
Rachel earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she received the Dean’s Prize for dispute resolution work, and her B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from Columbia University, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She is conversational in Spanish, French and Hebrew.
