Glaser Weil is pleased to celebrate the opening of Irving and Dorothy Levy Hall at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a new state-of-the-art academic building that now houses the university’s Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies and several other humanities and interdisciplinary programs.

The five-story facility was made possible through the generosity of UW alumni Jeffrey and Marvin Levy and serves as a hub for collaboration among eight academic departments and programs, including Jewish Studies, History, Religious Studies, Gender and Women’s Studies, and several ethnic and cultural studies programs.

Among the building’s many gathering spaces is the Julie & Peter Weil Study & Event Space, a two-story student lounge funded by Glaser Weil Managing Partner Peter Weil and his wife, Julie. Designed as a welcoming, unifying space, the lounge provides an environment where students, faculty and staff can connect, collaborate and build community.

Irving and Dorothy Levy Hall was designed to foster both academic excellence and interdisciplinary engagement. The building features modern classrooms, lecture halls, study spaces, a rooftop garden and sustainable infrastructure, creating a lasting home for the humanities at UW–Madison.

The opening of the building reflects a shared commitment among alumni and supporters to invest in future generations of scholars and students. Through their contribution to the project, Peter and Julie Weil helped create a space that will support learning, dialogue and community for years to come. The Irving and Dorothy Levy Hall welcomed students and faculty for the start of the 2026 academic year.
