Glaser Weil Recognized in Benchmark Litigation 2016

(LOS ANGELES—Oct. 29, 2015) Glaser Weil and four of its partners have received high recognition from Benchmark Litigation 2016, an annual guide that provides analysis of commercial and financial litigators and law firms in the United States based on interviews with the nation’s leading private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.

For the third consecutive year, Benchmark researchers graded Glaser Weil as “highly recommended,” only one of only 24 law firms in the entire state of California to garner this top rank. Partner and Litigation Department Chair Patricia Glaser was once again named to Benchmark’s list of the Top 250 Women Litigators in California and designated as a “litigation star” by Benchmark for the fourth straight year. In addition, Partner Robert Shapiro was named a “litigation star” for the third year in a row while Partner Jill Basinger was listed as a “future star” for the third consecutive year. Partner Sean Riley was named a “litigation star” by Benchmark for the first time this year.

Benchmark described Glaser Weil’s peers as viewing the firm as a “small big firm” with a substantial number of celebrity clients.  Benchmark noted that Ms. Glaser “receives nods from numerous peers for her active practice representing high-profile personalities in very contentious matters.” Benchmark discussed Ms. Glaser’s successful representation of Frank Gehry of Gehry Partners and Gehry Technologies in a case against his former CEO, along with Ms. Glaser’s ongoing representation of Sweetpea Entertainment and Sweetpea B.V.I. in conjunction with Ms. Basinger.

Benchmark mentioned the number of high profile clients Mr. Shapiro has represented, including Rockstar Energy Drink, Diamond Resorts International, Steve Wynn and Wynn Resorts Ltd., Cadeau Express and many celebrities.
