Overview

Leora Ghadoushi is an associate in Glaser Weil’s Employment Practice. She provides strategic advice and counsel to employers on a wide range of workplace issues and compliance matters. Leora also represents clients in employment-related disputes, including claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, and violations of the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and wage and hour laws.

Leora has significant experience defending clients in complex employment matters. In her litigation practice, she develops and executes effective case strategies, aggressively investigates facts through targeted witness interviews and depositions, drives discovery, and drafts and argues dispositive motions in state and federal court. Leora also represents clients in arbitration and administrative proceedings. She defends employers against charges and investigations before the California Labor Commissioner, the California Civil Rights Department, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Department of Labor. Beyond her dispute resolution work, Leora also partners with employers to foster compliance and prevent workplace issues before they arise. She has led sexual harassment prevention trainings for hundreds of employees at all levels, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

Leora stays abreast of the latest developments in employment law and frequently publishes articles on the same, including co-authoring the “Age Discrimination” chapter of the Practising Law Institute (PLI) “California Employment Law” treatise. She is committed to resolving disputes efficiently and effectively, and has experience negotiating settlements in both individual and class action matters.

Before joining Glaser Weil, Leora practiced in the labor and employment groups of two prominent national law firms. She also gained experience representing clients on workplace privacy and data security, including compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) counseling. Her work has included drafting privacy policies, notices, incident response plans and document retention policies in compliance with state, federal and international laws.

She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she served as President of the Jewish Law Student Association and externed for the Honorable Anthony J. Mohr (Ret.) of the Los Angeles Superior Court and served as a student attorney for the UC Irvine Law Domestic Violence Clinic. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in Jewish Studies.

Leora’s notable experience includes her representation of:

  • A major healthcare provider in a complex wage and hour class action, including depositions of putative class members and drafting a motion to deny class certification.*
  • A financial institution in trade secret litigation involving former employees, contributing to an opposition briefing on a motion to dismiss.*
  • A technology startup against a former salesperson’s claims of disability discrimination, securing summary adjudication on all discrimination allegations and positioning the client for a favorable resolution.*
  • A Fortune 500 retailer, successfully defeating Plaintiff’s counsel’s repeated motions to compel additional discovery, ultimately obtaining sanctions against opposing counsel and safeguarding the client from undue procedural burden.*
  • A national retailer, obtaining a ruling compelling arbitration in a sexual harassment and discrimination case, protecting the client from costly litigation.*
