Emma Samyan is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Department. She represents clients in a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters, including corporate disputes, fraud, trademark disputes, contract disputes, unfair competition, trade secret, labor and employment, products liability, probate and real estate actions before state and federal courts and in arbitrations.

Emma has extensive experience managing cases at all stages of litigation, including preparing and managing discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting and arguing law and motion matters, handling discovery disputes, steering mediations and settlement negotiations, and preparing for trial.

She has a particular depth of experience in:

  • Complex commercial litigation
  • Labor and employment disputes
  • Real estate litigation

Prior to joining the Firm, Emma was a litigation associate at another Los Angeles law firm, where she handled a broad range of matters, including business/commercial, trucking and transportation, premises liability and personal injury, construction disputes, asbestos litigation and claims brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Emma has also represented clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation and Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases. While at law school, she served as a law clerk for a real estate law firm, and as an undergraduate, she served as a legal intern for a nonprofit company meeting community needs and the general counsel of a private-sector beverage company. 

Emma earned her law degree from Loyola Law School, where she served as editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review and had her work published in several scholarly journals. In 2014, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles and was thrice named to the dean’s honor list.

She is a native Armenian speaker.
