As one of California’s most experienced and savvy real estate, corporate, and mergers & acquisitions lawyers, Glaser Weil Partner and Corporate Department Co-chair Roger Howard specializes in finding strategic solutions to complex business and real estate transaction issues.
Roger’s corporate and business work focuses on mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate restructuring and tax. Roger works with numerous national and local manufacturing companies, oil/gas companies, financial institutions, national investment banking and private equity companies, worldwide importers and foreign entities. His transactional real estate practice is focused on acquisitions, residential and commercial development, negotiation/documentation of complex ground leases, sales, restructuring, workouts, title issues and leasing. His practice includes purchases, sales and leases of residential/condominium and large commercial properties, including, for example, sales of major studios, high-rise residential properties, subdivisions, negotiating/documenting complex multi-family/restaurant ground leases in Marina del Rey/Malibu, gas station portfolios, high-rise office buildings, regional shopping centers, historical monuments and hotels. Roger’s extensive knowledge of high-stakes real estate issues has led some of the country’s largest title insurance companies to seek out his knowledge and expertise to help them resolve complex title insurance issues on their highest-priority claims.
Roger received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received recognition as the outstanding graduating senior. He received his law degree from UCLA School of Law.
Additionally, Roger is a frequent lecturer on real estate, business and corporate issues, and has spoken before organizations that include the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Fidelity National Financial and Chicago Title Insurance Company, UCLA Extension Programs and California CEB.
Roger has been selected for inclusion on the Southern California Super Lawyers list and in the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel edition. He was also a recipient of the 2010 Humanitarian Award from the Los Angeles Cedars Sinai Hospital Tower Cancer Research Foundation.
