Peter Breckheimer, a Partner in Glaser Weil’s Real Estate Department, will moderate a panel at USC Gould School of Law’s 2017 Real Estate Law and Business Forum, “Southern California 2027: Deals, Careers, Places, Spaces and Mobility a Decade from Now.” Mr. Breckheimer also serves on the Executive and Planning Committees for the 2017 conference. This full-day event, being held on Thursday, March 9, at The Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles, will explore the future of real estate in the Los Angeles basin, and provide attendees the opportunity to interact with local public officials and nationally known industry experts.
Mr. Breckheimer’s panel, “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do: Litigation Risks in Real Estate Partnerships and Equity Investments in Real Estate,” will analyze common disputes that arise between “money” and “sponsor” partners with respect to equity investments in commercial projects, and ways to avoid them. The experienced panelists will discuss their first-hand experience with such disputes and provide real-world insight as to how such disputes can be mitigated.
