Century City Litigation Assistant - Employment Law
The Opportunity
At Glaser Weil, you will work with a team of passionate and driven attorneys and staff on challenging and often high-profile business disputes and labor and employment matters. The successful candidate will have a self-starter mindset, strong integrity and professional demeanor. This position is based in our Century City office with a hybrid work schedule, requiring four days in-office.
Responsibilities
- Provide general office support for litigation attorneys, for example, maintain and organize files, photocopy, maintain calendars, prepare expense reports, submit invoices for payment, schedule travel, coordinate meetings, calls and conferences to include ordering meals, scheduling conference rooms, and room set up.
- Provide support for the firm’s monthly billing process, track attorney time records and billing.
- Set up new clients and matters in the billing system.
- Prepare correspondence, documents and presentations; take responsibility for formatting, consistency and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents.
- Calculate and calendar court deadlines.
- Format, proofread, and finalize detailed correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents; prepare and finalize basic correspondence and other documents as necessary.
- Establish and maintain paper and electronic filing systems; classify, sort and file correspondence, records, and other documents.
- File pleadings in state and federal trial courts, courts of appeals, and Supreme Courts; communicate with court staff, as necessary; keep current with changes in court rules and filing procedures.

Attractive Candidates Will Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant with a working knowledge of Employment Law
- Knowledge of preparing, revising and finalizing court documents
- An understanding of California Civil Procedure and Court Rules
- Experience with e-filing in both State and Federal Courts
- Trial preparation experience
- A strong ability to schedule meetings with clients, experts, attorneys and co-counsel, including court appearances
- Excellent grammar, proofreading and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

The base compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000. These numbers do not reflect a successful candidate’s total compensation. Base compensation is only the guaranteed component of the total compensation package and does not include discretionary bonuses.
