Jason Grinnell is a partner in Glaser Weil’s Real Estate Department. With several decades of experience, Jason provides strategic guidance and expert counsel where the entertainment and real estate industries intersect. Jason serves a diverse clientele, from publicly traded international technology companies to family offices to boutique video game developers and studios. Jason strives to help each client achieve its business goals in an ever-changing real estate environment.

With a strong background in real estate acquisitions, dispositions and leasing, Jason blends legal acumen with a deep understanding of the industry’s dynamics, allowing Jason to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities that drive favorable outcomes for his clients. Jason is renowned for fostering collaborative relationships with clients to get a deeper understanding of how real estate legal work aligns with their goals and objectives. In his real estate finance practice, he advises financial institutions in construction, permanent and mezzanine debt financing. Jason also represents both financial institutions and investors in loan workouts, forbearances and other distressed debt transactions.

  • Palisade Group, LLC, in the $47.5 million acquisition of two Class A office buildings, totaling 223,000 square feet, at 1000 and 1100 Dexter Avenue in Seattle, Washington. 
  • Filmmaker Jason Reitman in the acquisition of the Fox Village Theater, an iconic art deco institution in Westwood.
  • A prominent multinational financial services company in the management and disposition of various trust assets, including several office properties in Los Angeles.
  • Blatteis & Schnur in connection with the acquisition and financing of high-end retail properties.
  • Merlone Geier Partners in connection with the trading of several of its retail properties in California and Washington.
  • Ocean West Capital Partners in various joint venture acquisitions of office and industrial portfolios throughout California.
  • Upwork Inc., the global freelancing platform, in its leasing of its headquarters in the Bay Area in Northern California.
