Edward (E.J.) Schloss is an Associate in Glaser Weil’s Government and Land Use Departments. His work involves performing government outreach, facilitating the approval and entitlement process, researching government agreements, and helping clients navigate local government and regulatory authorities. In addition to his government and land use work, Mr. Schloss also has experience in corporate transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, and general governance issues.
He currently sits on the Next Generation Committee of Safe Place for Youth, a nonprofit organization based out of Venice, California. He participates regularly in the Glaser Weil’s pro bono work.
Prior to joining Glaser Weil, Mr. Schloss was a Legal Clerk at Heads of State, LLC, a national lifestyle apparel brand. Among other responsibilities, he advised on compliance with state and local laws, and engaged in community outreach. He also worked as a research assistant with the UN Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food, and with the Northern California Innocence Project.
Mr. Schloss earned his J.D. from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law where he served as the Chief Managing Editor of the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. In 2015, he received the Masin Family Academic Excellence Award in Federal Income Tax. Prior to attending UCLA Law, Mr. Schloss completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley.
