Glaser Weil LLP is proud to announce that Kerry Garvis Wright has been named a “Top Labor and Employment Lawyer” by the Daily Journal for 2018. A Partner in Glaser Weil’s Litigation Department and co-head of the Firm’s Employment Group, Ms. Garvis Wright is one of only 74 recipients from across California recognized for her significant contributions in labor and employment law.

In profiling Ms. Garvis Wright, the Daily Journal highlights her representation of Harvey Weinstein in connection with the litigation arising out of the termination of his employment with The Weinstein Company (“TWC”).  Ms. Garvis Wright notes that Mr. Weinstein’s claims against TWC present an important examination into the employers, institutions, and industries that enable and perpetuate the very conduct that is the subject of the movements.

The Daily Journal also notes that Ms. Garvis Wright was hired by a special committee of the Guess? Board of Directors to conduct an investigation into recent allegations of improper conduct by the Company's founder, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, Paul Marciano. The results of her investigation served as the basis of the committee’s recommendations for the full Guess? Board.

A “go to” employment lawyer, Ms. Garvis Wright’s litigation practice has been squarely at the intersection of employment law and entertainment law for several years. With a focus on high-stakes employment-related litigation – ranging from sexual harassment and gender discrimination to contract and other statutory and tort claims – and with many of her clients in the entertainment industry (talent, talent agencies, entertainment executives, etc.), she was perfectly positioned for the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.
