Glaser, Rubin and Basinger Recognized by Variety for Impact in the Legal Industry

Glaser Weil Partners Patricia GlaserBarbara Rubin and Jill Basinger were honored among the world’s top entertainment attorneys working in film, television, theater and digital media in Variety’s 2017 Legal Impact Report, which appeared in its April 4th issue.

Ms. Glaser and Ms. Basinger were among the leading litigators and Ms. Rubin was among the foremost transactional attorneys selected, based on information gathered by the Variety editorial team and suggestions from the legal community. The Legal Impact Report honors attorneys who have had a major influence on the entertainment industry over the past year.

Patricia Glaser, head of Glaser Weil’s Litigation Department, has long served as one of the entertainment industry’s preeminent trial lawyers. For the fourth consecutive year, Variety has named her to its Legal Impact Report, recognizing her work defending Conan O’Brien against an infringement claim; opposing a movie breach-of-contract claim on behalf of China’s Bliss Media; and representing four owners of Roar personal management company.

Partner and Chair of Glaser Weil’s Entertainment Transactional Department, Barbara Rubin has devoted her practice to providing practical advice to talent and entertainment companies in film, television and new media. This is the third consecutive year Variety has honored Ms. Rubin on its list noting such clients as Scripps and Tegna station groups; “Designated Survivor” showrunner Jeff Melvoin; Martin Sheen; actress-producer Alison Sweeney; Anonymous Content; and the BBC.

Glaser Weil Partner Jill Basinger is an experienced trial lawyer who has garnered many favorable verdicts for high-profile entertainment industry individuals and Fortune 500 companies.
