Los Angeles - The largest privately funded construction project in United States history - the $8.5 billion, 67-acre Las Vegas CityCenter - opened to the public in December 2009. The Los Angeles - based law firm Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard & Shapiro LLP served as lead counsel on nearly every aspect of the 18-million square foot "city within a city" since it was conceived and initiated by MGM MIRAGE in 2005, and as it evolved into a joint venture between MGM MIRAGE and Dubai World, an investment arm of the Dubai government. Relying on its experienced and diverse transactional legal practice, Glaser Weil’s attorneys overcame significant legal challenges and completed contract negotiations in record time for the project's high-end residential, hospitality, entertainment, shopping, recreational buildings and facilities.
