Partner Jill Basinger Achieves Complete Victory for Snoop Dogg

Glaser Weil Partner Jill Basinger prevailed in a multi-day arbitration on behalf of musical artist Snoop Dogg. In a contentious and hard-fought contractual dispute, Ms. Basinger prevailed on all claims brought against Snoop, prompting former federal judge John A. Reed to deny entirely all damages claimed.

The dispute arose out of an alleged contract Snoop Dogg entered into with Battles Capital Investments Inc. that called for Battles to procure a loan to purchase property. Battles claimed it was entitled to payment from Snoop Dogg, who ceased doing business with Battles when it did not deliver an acceptable loan proposal. Because the terms of the contract were never clearly defined, Ms. Basinger proved Battles was not entitled to any award.
