Representative Matters
Steve Freeman, Of Counsel in the Firm’s Real Estate Group, focuses on coverage issues related to title insurance policies. Mr. Freeman began his legal career as a Los Angeles County Deputy Public Defender and tried more than 10 jury cases and numerous other court cases. He also tried and participated in the appeal of a precedent-setting juvenile court case that established a juvenile's right to appellate counsel; to free transcripts on appeal; and to be informed of the charges in advance of trial. Mr. Freeman has prepared hundreds of coverage opinions, engaged in inter-insurance company litigations and participated in dozens of mediations representing his insurer clients against other insurers, or against plaintiffs seeking damages on account of an insured's conduct. He Freeman received his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California School of Law and obtained his Masters from the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Business. In 1972, Mr. Freeman joined the faculty of the Department of Business Law at California State University Northridge (CSUN), became a full professor in 1980. After more than three decades at CSUN, he was awarded status as a Professor Emeritus in 2003. |
