Summary Extended Bio Representative Matters

Resident in the Firm’s Las Vegas office, Litigation Partner Lance Coburn specializes in a wide range of business, media, first amendment, construction, labor and securities matters litigated in state and federal courts. 

Mr. Coburn's thorough style and appreciation for procedural details have been effective in achieving settlement of complex international matters where litigation was pending in multiple courts and jurisdictions.  He has in-depth experience representing developers of resort hotel/casinos on the Las Vegas Strip in matters involving years of litigation with claims for hundreds of millions of dollars, consistently achieving remarkable results and settlements on complex securities and construction matters.

Mr. Coburn also has extensive experience in media law, representing media entities on a wide variety of matters from ranging from defamation lawsuits to prepublication review and advice concerning probing investigative reports.  Mr. Coburn developed a news room seminar for television news stations which seek to educate their field and studio reporters on the parameters of media law, and taught media law as an adjunct professor at UNLV's Boyd School of Law.

A civic-minded attorney in the Las Vegas community, Mr. Coburn participated in the Leadership Henderson Nevada Chamber of Commerce program, an eight-month program devoted to educating and empowering civic-minded professionals.   He is actively involved in representing children through the Children’s Attorney Program in Nevada, and was past general counsel for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.

Mr. Coburn received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont in Political Science with a minor in Economics and American Literature.  He also obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif upon graduation.
