Commercial Litigation
- As second chair, Ms. Garvis Wright obtained a jury verdict in favor of her client, an international and publicly traded real estate brokerage firm in a trial of a $15 million claim brought by a developer arising out of a failed real estate transaction. After only 50 minutes of deliberations, the jury delivered a unanimous defense verdict.
Real Estate Litigation
- Ms. Garvis Wright second-chaired a trial in which she and Ms. Glaser obtained a judgment of nonsuit – after two weeks of testimony and just moments before closing arguments were set to begin - for celebrated architect Frank Gehry and his design company Gehry Design. The plaintiff limited liability company sought more than $22 million, alleging that it was entitled to one-half of the proceeds Gehry Design earns from sales of the jewelry it designs for international jewelry house Tiffany & Co. Prior to trial even beginning, Ms. Garvis Wright successfully argued a motion which resulted in the court reducing the claimed damages by $20 million.
Sports Litigation
- As lead trial counsel, Ms. Garvis Wright obtained an arbitration award in favor of her client, an NBA superstar, in a multimillion dollar action brought by his personal manager. Ms. Garvis Wright convinced the arbitrator that the agreement between her client and his manager was unconscionable and unenforceable, and procured by undue influence. The arbitration award was upheld by the Colorado Supreme Court.
