A partner at the firm, Kerry Garvis Wright represents clients across a broad range of businesses in commercial litigation.  Her focus is on entertainment, sports, and employment-related matters.  Maintaining both her Illinois and California bar licenses, she has defended companies large and small, ranging from global, publicly-traded companies, such as Tiffany & Co., and major motion picture studios to smaller production companies and other entrepreneurial ventures.  Her clients have also included high net worth individuals and celebrities, including world renowned architect Frank Gehry, as well as NBA athletes and agents. She has defended a multitude of high stakes lawsuits involving claims for fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and claims of wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, and harassment.  Her plaintiff clients have included individuals and companies involved in business disputes, including actions for trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement and other related business claims.

Ms. Garvis Wright has represented clients before governmental entities, such as the Federal Trade Commission, defending such claims as for alleged false advertising.  She even appeared before the California Boxing Commission relating to litigation between producers of competing boxing-themed reality televisions.  Recently, she successfully handled an appeal to the Producers Guild of America for a client who was denied “Produced by” credit for a major motion picture.

An experienced trial lawyer in both courtroom and arbitration settings, Ms. Garvis Wright appears as first-chair, or as second-chair, alongside the firm’s litigation department head and “trial icon,” Patricia Glaser.

Ms. Garvis Wright received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois, Champaign with high honors, and her Juris Doctorate from University of Illinois College of Law cum laude, where she was on the University of Illinois Law Review.
