Barry Fink serves as Co-Managing Partner of the firm and head of the Taxation and International Business Transaction Practice. A former law clerk to a Federal District Court Judge and trial attorney with the Tax Division, U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Fink represents clients in administrative tax controversies and in litigation in federal and state courts. He also represents clients in complex real estate transactions, corporate and other business combinations, financial workout transactions and in cross-border tax and business matters.

Mr. Fink’s wide-ranging experience includes the litigation of California franchise tax, insurance business tax, sales and use tax and property tax controversies, as well as income and estate tax disputes. A former member of President Carter’s Tax Advisory Committee, he has extensive experience representing industry groups in the drafting of tax legislation, rulings and administrative guidance at both the federal and state levels. He also advises and helps qualify charitable organizations, governmental agencies and others dependent upon administrative guidance (rulings) and fiduciary regulation.

A Certified Public Accountant (Illinois) and graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, Mr. Fink is admitted to practice law in California, Illinois and the Federal District.
